In a significant health alert, eight people have tested positive for dengue fever in Indore district, officials announced on Friday. The list of affected individuals includes two teenage girls and a senior citizen, prompting the health authorities to escalate measures to control the disease's spread.

During health department organized screening camps over the past three days, one patient in Sangvi village and seven in Sagarod village were diagnosed with the mosquito-borne illness, according to Dr. Daulat Patel, the district malaria officer. Fortunately, the health condition of the patients is reported to be stable, with none in immediate danger.

Dr. Patel further revealed that during village surveys, mosquito larvae were discovered in containers used for serving water to cattle. These larvae were eradicated, and villagers were instructed to regularly change the water to prevent mosquito breeding. He emphasized that a proactive campaign to tackle dengue, particularly prevalent during the June-to-September monsoon season, is currently underway in the rural regions of the district.
