The Kerala government has intensified its crackdown on doctors under the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) engaging in private practice, as reiterated by Health Minister Veena George on Friday.

Addressing the media, George emphasized the government's determination to address this issue, given that these doctors receive a non-practice allowance.

Further complicating matters, a probe revealed numerous instances of doctors failing to use the mandated punch-in attendance system. The findings have triggered strong governmental intervention to ensure compliance.
