Bromine Gas Leak at Tarapur Drugs Factory Causes Panic

A suspected Bromine gas leak from a drugs factory in Tarapur industrial area in Palghar district occurred on Saturday, causing some individuals to feel nauseous and dizzy. Emergency teams, including disaster cell personnel and the fire brigade, are working to control the situation and identify the number of affected residents.

A suspected Bromine gas leak at a drugs factory in the Tarapur industrial area in Palghar district on Saturday has affected residents, an official stated.

According to Palghar District Disaster Management chief Vivekanand Kadam, the leak was reported at around 1:30 PM. Teams of disaster cell personnel, the fire brigade, and factory inspectors quickly arrived at the scene to address the issue.

'Some people around the factory reported feeling nauseous and dizzy. The exact number of those affected is still being determined as emergency teams continue efforts to plug the leak,' he added.
