The 29-year-old student was enrolled at the government medical college in Patiala. Superintendent of Police Sarfraz Alam noted that Subaashini had been struggling with depression.

Her body is currently at the mortuary of Rajindra hospital, with a post-mortem examination scheduled for Sunday when her family is expected to arrive.
