Escalating Conflict: Israeli Jets Target Houthi Facilities in Yemen
Israeli fighter jets bombed Houthi military targets in Hodeidah, Yemen, in response to numerous attacks against Israel. The strikes, reported to have hit oil facilities and caused fatalities, follow a Houthi drone attack in Tel Aviv that killed one person. The conflict reflects broader regional tensions.
CAIRO, July 20 (Reuters) - The Israeli military launched airstrikes targeting Houthi military positions in Hodeidah, Yemen, on Saturday. This response comes after a series of attacks against Israel in recent months.
Reports from Al-Masirah TV indicated that oil facilities in Hodeidah were hit, resulting in fatalities. Residents of Hodeidah confirmed hearing explosions across the city.
The airstrikes followed a Houthi drone attack in Tel Aviv on Friday that killed one person and injured four others. Israeli military officials stated that the strikes were intended as a direct response to the growing number of attacks by the Iranian-backed Houthis, who claim these actions are in solidarity with Palestinians.
