Delhi Lt Governor V K Saxena has issued instructions for a comprehensive overhaul of a hospital operated by the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) in the Seemapuri area of east Delhi, according to Raj Niwas officials on Sunday.
During his inspection of the hospital on Saturday, Saxena emphasized the need to tackle the hospital's deficiencies, set a six-month deadline for the work, and asked senior doctors and officials to create a plan for upgrading the facilities. The hospital currently faces a severe shortage of modern equipment and personnel, including the absence of a medical officer for the past six months.
Saxena also inspected a building provided by the Delhi Development Authority to the IRCS in Dilshad Garden and expressed dissatisfaction with its condition, urging officials to develop a renovation strategy. Additionally, he visited the main office of the Delhi chapter of the IRCS at Golf Links, directing a sensitive renovation of its iconic 1962 structure and proposing the establishment of a training center for nurses and clinical staff. Financial planning for these projects was ordered to adhere strictly to IRCS rules and regulations.
