Kerala Health Minister Veena George reported on Saturday that test results for four more contacts of the 14-year-old boy who recently succumbed to Nipah virus have returned negative.

The boy from Malappuram, who was receiving treatment for Nipah infection, passed away on July 21.

Currently, eight individuals are under treatment, and there are 472 people on the contact list, she informed. Of these, 220 individuals are in the high-risk category, the Minister stated during a Nipah review meeting held at the Malappuram Collector's Conference Hall via online.

To date, a total of 836 individuals have received psychological support services, George added.
