Centre Approves AIIMS Construction in Darbhanga, Promises Major Development

The Centre has given the green light for an AIIMS construction in Darbhanga, Bihar. Following this decision, the state government has directed officials to expedite the transfer of land to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey highlighted the importance of this project, emphasizing the rapid development of medical infrastructure under the current leadership. He noted the Centre's letter dated July 25, which confirmed the site's feasibility and detailed the requirements for electricity, road connectivity, and water supply.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JD(U) and NDA alliance partner expressed their appreciation on social media, describing the project as a transformative step for the region's healthcare and employment landscape. Plans are also in place for a new 2,500-bed hospital at Darbhanga Medical College, further expanding the region's medical facilities.
