According to the Australian Financial Review, the drug will not be subsidised under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, and patients will require a prescription from their doctor to obtain it. This development follows Wegovy's recent introduction in Spain and Canada, bringing the total number of markets where the drug is available to 12.
