Maharashtra Minister Sanjay Bansode announced that Latur's initiative to identify and treat hearing impairments in children up to six years of age will be a model for the state.
Bansode inaugurated 'Mission SAAD' on Thursday, an initiative aimed at children suffering from hearing impairments, conducted in partnership with Umang Institute and Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK).
The minister committed to securing CSR funds to expand the initiative's reach.
'Mission SAAD' will send teams to anganwadis to conduct health check-ups for children up to six years old. Those diagnosed with hearing impairments will receive treatment, including surgeries like cochlear implants if necessary, officials said.
