Asokan's letter captures the nation's grief and despair while reflecting on the societal failures that led to the tragic incident. 'We as a nation did not let her down in death. It is difficult to capture the mood of the nation. Anger, Revulsion, Frustration, Helplessness,' he writes.

The IMA has called for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intervention and announced a nationwide withdrawal of non-emergency medical services.
