Doctors' Strike Enters Eighth Day with Symbolic Protest on the Streets

Doctors in the national capital took their protest to the streets on Monday, offering elective outpatient services outside Nirman Bhawan as their strike entered its eighth consecutive day. The ongoing strike is in response to the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata.

With no safety or protection inside hospitals, medics treated patients on the road, surrounded by police, to highlight their demand for the implementation of the Central Protection Act (CPA). 'We have no option but to fight for ourselves,' said Doctor Ansar.

Around 300 to 400 people joined the protest, holding flags, placards, and stained white aprons. While the strike continues, emergency services at hospitals are still operational. Despite the ongoing struggles, the doctors are resolute in their fight for safety.
