Nine young individuals, including eight siblings, tragically lost their lives after reportedly consuming poisonous food in Sindh, Pakistan, according to local media reports.
The victims, aged between four to 18 years, had dined together on Monday night in Haibat Khan Brohi village before falling unconscious. Immediate efforts to save them were hampered due to the absence of doctors at the local Kingri Taluka Hospital. Three deaths were initially reported with six more following shortly after.
Accusations have arisen against paramedics and nurses for mishandling the victims, as stated by local villagers. The sole surviving victim remains in a critical condition at the hospital. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has ordered an investigation to determine the cause of death, with food samples collected for analysis. The police are also probing the incident.
