Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj has inaugurated two new Mohalla Clinics in Moti Nagar, raising the total number to 545. According to an official statement, special Mohalla Clinics for women, staffed entirely by female employees and doctors, are being introduced to cater to women's specific healthcare needs.
Bharadwaj highlighted the invaluable benefits of these clinics, noting that over two crore people have received treatment, including affluent citizens who typically opt for private hospitals. He also assured the public that government operations, despite facing setbacks, will continue without interruption.
In light of the ongoing protests over the alleged rape and murder of a female resident in Kolkata, Bharadwaj urged the central government to establish laws ensuring the safety of doctors. He stressed that without adequate salaries and protection, many healthcare professionals might consider going abroad.
