U-Win Portal Set to Transform Vaccine Management Nationwide
The Union Health Secretary announced the upcoming launch of the U-Win portal, designed to digitize vaccination records for millions of pregnant women and children. Built on the success of Co-WIN, U-Win aims to enhance healthcare access and integration. The platform will be operational across India, excluding West Bengal, by the end of this month.

The Union Health Secretary, Apurva Chandra, revealed plans for the imminent launch of the U-Win portal, a platform aimed at creating permanent digital records for the vaccination and medication of over three crore pregnant women and 2.7 crore children born annually. This announcement was made during the national conference on 'Universal Access to Healthcare: Digital Solutions.'
Modeled after the successful COVID-19 vaccine management system Co-WIN, U-Win is currently being piloted in all states and Union territories of India, except West Bengal. Chandra emphasized that the platform will capture every vaccination event of pregnant women and children under the Universal Immunization Programme (UIP) once fully operational.
Chandra also highlighted the success of digital health initiatives like Co-WIN and Aarogya Setu, which facilitated over 220 crore vaccinations nationwide. Dr. V K Paul from NITI Aayog and Bharat Lal from NHRC further emphasized the importance of digital health solutions in promoting inclusivity, human rights, and reducing healthcare disparities between urban and rural areas.
