Aggrieved junior doctors in West Bengal have reached out to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee via email, seeking an appointment to address the escalating crisis stemming from the alleged rape and murder of a fellow on-duty medic at a state-run hospital last month.
The doctors expressed their willingness to meet Banerjee 'anytime and anywhere,' with the stipulation that the entire discussion be streamed live. 'We have written to the CM madam for a meeting, which could be arranged anytime today or tomorrow and anywhere of her choice. But the meeting should be streamed live,' one of the junior doctors told PTI.
Notably, the junior doctors have been camped outside the state health department office for over 22 hours, demanding the ouster of Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal, the state health secretary, the director of health education (DHE), and the director of health services (DHS).
