An infant's body, reportedly partially eaten by dogs, has been discovered among garbage at the district women's hospital in Lalitpur, according to hospital authorities.

Medical Superintendent Meenakshi Devi disclosed that Sangeeta, a Bahadurpur village resident, delivered a premature baby on February 9. The newborn, suffering from an underdeveloped brain and skull, died shortly after and was handed back to the family.

Sangeeta's husband, Akhilesh, alleges a nurse told them to give the body to someone for cremation at a cost, but the baby's remains were ultimately discarded.
