Firefighters are traditionally seen as life-savers in dramatic situations, but their roles reach far wider. In a recent incident at Kanhangad district hospital, their skills were tested in an unusual medical emergency.
On the night of March 25, a 46-year-old man arrived at the hospital with a potentially life-threatening condition. An iron washer was lodged in his genital area, causing severe swelling and preventing urination.
