Maharashtra has reported an additional 53 COVID-19 cases on Friday, pushing the state's total to 2,281 for the year, according to a health department official.
Fortunately, no deaths were reported as of Thursday. The recent infections include 18 from Pune and 11 from Mumbai, with smaller numbers from other districts.
Since January, a total of 24,635 tests have been conducted, revealing 923 cases in Mumbai alone, where 435 appeared in May and 482 in June. Of the 32 total fatalities, 31 individuals had underlying health conditions.
