Nalam Kakkum Stalin: Empowering Health Screenings Across Tamil Nadu

Aimed at delivering healthcare at doorsteps, especially rural areas, the camps offer various screenings and prioritize vulnerable groups to improve public health.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has launched a state-wide health screening initiative, 'Nalam Kakkum Stalin', aimed at improving public health while urging doctors to see hospital visitors as beneficiaries of health programs, not just patients.

The initiative focuses on delivering healthcare to the doorsteps of citizens, particularly in rural and tribal areas, with plans to hold 1,256 camps statewide. Each camp will be staffed by 200 medical personnel and will prioritize screenings for vulnerable groups, including those with chronic health issues, mental disorders, pregnant women, and socio-economically disadvantaged individuals.

Screenings will include tests for diabetes, blood pressure, tuberculosis, leprosy, and cancers specific to women. CM Stalin, drawing from his experience during recent hospitalization, highlighted the importance of community interaction for well-being. Dignitaries, including Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin, attended the inaugural event.
