Delhi Government Boosts Nursing Intern Stipend After 27 Years

The Delhi government has raised the stipend for nursing interns at government hospitals from Rs 500 to Rs 13,150. This revision, addressing a 27-year-old demand, aims to grant parity with MBBS interns and enhance the morale and financial stability of nursing students. Approximately 180 interns will benefit.

The Delhi government announced a significant increase in the monthly stipend for government hospital nursing interns, raising it from Rs 500 to a remarkable Rs 13,150.

This decision, finalized during a recent cabinet meeting, marks the first revision in 27 years, impacting around 180 nursing interns from three major government hospitals.

Health Minister Pankaj Singh emphasized that this move not only resolves a long-standing disparity but also aims to uplift the morale and financial stability of nursing students, bringing them on par with MBBS interns.
