The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Department of Health Research (DHR) have inaugurated a milestone meeting titled 'Health Research and Innovations in Public Health: Exchange of Good Practices across the RESEARCH Platform' to boost collaboration in South and Southeast Asia.
Dr. Rajiv Bahl, ICMR's Director General, emphasized that research collaboration can lead to development in public health. The event convened representatives from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and Timor-Leste to discuss strategies for strengthening health research systems and sharing best practices.
Dr. V K Paul from NITI Aayog underlined the importance of regional unity and highlighted the potential of co-created research and policy action to achieve Sustainable Development Goals. The meeting marks a pioneering step towards regional cooperation and knowledge exchange in health research.
