Sanjeevani: Digitizing Health Records in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced the statewide expansion of the Sanjeevani project, an initiative to digitalize health records currently piloted in Kuppam, Chittoor district. Supported by the Bill Gates Foundation, the project is expected to modernize healthcare across the state.
During a strategic meeting at the secretariat, Naidu emphasized leveraging technology for preventive care, identifying ten prevalent diseases to target. Additionally, a team of national and international medical experts contributed insights, including nutrition's role in health, as highlighted by ex-WHO chief scientist Sowmya Swaminathan.
The meeting also outlined plans for showcasing advanced medical systems at the upcoming Global AI Convention in Mumbai. Bill Gates Foundation's Archana Vyas reiterated the organization's commitment to improving healthcare facilities in Andhra Pradesh, including forming a health secretariat for effective public health monitoring.
