A city administration raid on Tuesday resulted in the sealing of an ultrasonography centre operating without a radiologist. Officials conducted the inspection at Unique Ultrasound Centre on Bahjoi road after receiving complaints about the violation of norms.

City Magistrate Sudhir Kumar revealed that the centre, located opposite Saxena Hospital, was warned a month ago regarding the illegal conduct of ultrasounds sans a radiologist. Despite the warning, 12 ultrasounds took place on Tuesday without the requisite medical professional present, leading to its closure.

During the raid, a list of ASHA workers referring patients to the centre was discovered. The involvement of these workers is under further investigation, with the Chief Medical Officer being notified for additional action.
