In a tragic incident at the Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur, 28-year-old junior technician Anju Kumari was found dead in her campus accommodation. The alleged suicide occurred following an emotional phone conversation with her fiancé, sources reported on Saturday.
Authorities discovered a 350-page personal diary in Anju's room, revealing that her emotional struggles might have intensified after her brother's earlier suicide. Although family members previously noted her recent emotional stability, the diary suggested she was deeply distressed after a phone argument with her fiancé, Pankaj.
The police have initiated a detailed investigation, examining call records and diary entries to piece together the events leading to her death. Deputy Commissioner of Police SM Qasim Abidi indicated that personal and familial stress might have contributed to the tragedy, as forensic analysis of the case continues.
