A private clinic in the Katra Bazar area was closed on Saturday after allegations of medical negligence in the deaths of a 21-year-old woman and her newborn, officials report.
The victim, Soni, delivered her baby at RD Memorial Clinic on Tuesday. The newborn died soon after birth. According to Soni's husband, Ghanshyam, her condition worsened post-delivery. Despite this, the clinic allegedly did not refer her to a higher medical facility in time.
After a complaint, a team shifted Soni to the District Women's Hospital. However, she was reportedly denied admission, prompting her transfer to another private hospital, where she passed away. Authorities sealed the clinic on Friday, with investigations ongoing and legal processes in motion.
