State-of-the-Art Neurosurgical Facility Boosts Healthcare in Northeast India

An advanced neurosurgical operation theatre facility was inaugurated at AIIMS Guwahati, enhancing super-specialty healthcare services for the Northeast region of India.
The facility was officially opened by AIIMS Executive Director Prof (Dr) Ashok Puranik, with the presence of PGCIL Senior General Manager Surendra Kumar Majhi.
Supported by a Rs 6.5 crore Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contribution from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), the initiative focuses on upgrading medical infrastructure with state-of-the-art neurosurgical equipment. This collaboration seeks to improve precision, safety, and outcomes in brain and spine surgeries. Highlighting the facility's transformative potential, Puranik emphasized the importance of collaborations in advancing healthcare infrastructure, while Majhi stressed PGCIL's dedication to societal development, particularly in healthcare, through impactful CSR projects. The new facility is expected to handle the rising patient demands at AIIMS Guwahati, serving as a key referral center for the entire Northeast region.
