Delhi has encountered a concerning surge in dengue cases this April, with 52 incidents marking the highest rate for the month in five years, as revealed by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
The consistent rise in early-season detections over recent years is evident, with dengue cases growing significantly from 12 in 2022 to 52 in the current year. Malaria cases have also been reported, shedding light on mosquito-borne disease trends.
Officials have launched intensified measures, such as fogging and anti-larval operations. Data shows proactive inspections and Guppy fish interventions are underway to curb breeding, as authorities brace for the upcoming monsoon’s potential impact.
