Ebola Case Confirmed: American Undergoing Treatment in Germany

The CDC confirmed an American has tested positive for Ebola originating from their work in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The State Department is coordinating with the CDC to transport the patient to Germany for treatment, maintaining the risk to the U.S. remains low.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that an American has contracted Ebola during their efforts in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Dr. Satish Pillai of the CDC stated that plans are in place, in collaboration with the State Department, to move the individual to Germany for advanced care.

Despite the confirmed case, health officials assure that the threat to the United States remains minimal.
