UK, India join hands to fulfill global health needs

A total of 10 million euros to be allotted under phase 2 of the Global Research Programme on Health between UKRI(United Kingdom Research and innovation), Department for International Development and India's Department of Biotechnology under the Newton-Bhabha fund.
The multifaceted research will incorporate projects that will cater to the needs of women and children in marginalised sections of society.
Interventions will be made to tackle diseases like gestational diabetes mellitus, hypertension and sexually transmitted disease.
The Global Research Programme on health brings together the group of funders to support partnerships between researchers from the United Kingdom, India and other countries with low and middle income.
Under the projects, the research group in Ethiopia, Uganda, Gambia, Zambia and Nepal with establishing collaboration the team of researchers in India and the UK to make sure that the results are implementable which can address the health problems of people in low and middle-income countries.
