Taiwan's Ministry of National Defence announced on Monday a surge in military movements near its borders by China's People's Liberation Army and Navy. The ministry reported that as of 6 a.m. local time, 10 Chinese aircraft and 6 naval vessels were identified operating close to Taiwan.
Among the detected aircraft, 8 crossed into Taiwan's southwestern and eastern Air Defence Identification Zones (ADIZ), escalating tensions in the region. Taiwan's Armed Forces, known as the Republic of China Armed Forces, responded by monitoring the situation and implementing necessary measures.
This incident underscores the ongoing geopolitical tensions between Taiwan and China. The Taiwan Strait remains a hotspot for military activities, with both sides defending their territorial and national security interests.
