ABU DHABI [UAE], July 16 (ANI/WAM): President Joko Widodo of Indonesia's state visit to the UAE today marks a significant milestone in the 47-year journey of bilateral cooperation and friendship between the two nations. The visit is set to enhance partnerships in nuclear energy, investment, and financial sectors.

The Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's historic visit to Indonesia in May 1990 laid the foundation for this enduring relationship. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan highlighted during the UAE-Indonesia Joint Committee meeting in 2023 that both countries have bolstered cooperation in numerous fields including energy, tourism, and artificial intelligence.

Economic ties have thrived, with bilateral trade surpassing AED100 billion in the last decade. The UAE-Indonesia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), signed in 2022, has significantly elevated trade and economic cooperation.
