The Muslim Council of Elders, chaired by Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, has called for global collaboration to develop a comprehensive strategy to combat hate speech, intolerance, extremism, and discrimination.

The Council marked the International Day for Countering Hate Speech by emphasizing that cultural and religious diversity should be seen as a source of enrichment rather than conflict. They argued that diversity is a divine principle, advocating for pluralism, acceptance, and respect between different religions and cultures.

The Council is actively working through numerous initiatives, programs, and international conferences to foster a culture of tolerance, respect, and coexistence. They aim to build dialogues that bridge gaps between different cultures and religions, promoting global peace, security, and stability.
