White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre emphasized Wednesday that Vice President Kamala Harris is the most qualified candidate to be the Democratic Party's presidential nominee. With over four years of experience as the vice president, Jean-Pierre lauded Harris's extensive political background.

'The vice president (Kamala Harris) has been vice president for more than four years. I do not see anyone more qualified to step in at this moment. She was a senator. She was an attorney general,' Jean-Pierre stated during a White House briefing. She added that President Joe Biden is proud of his decision to endorse Harris.

Jean-Pierre highlighted Harris's international experience, noting she has visited over 19 countries and met with 150 foreign leaders. President Biden is set to speak from the Oval Office, addressing the nation for the first time since announcing his withdrawal from the 2024 election and endorsing Harris as the Democratic nominee.

Biden announced his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race on July 21, after pressure from within the party. Harris has since secured enough delegate support to become the Democratic nominee. The Democratic National Convention will officially nominate her in August.
