Pakistani political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced the formation of a 'grand opposition alliance' following approval from its founder, Imran Khan. The announcement was made by senior PTI leader Asad Qaiser, according to a Geo News report. This decision comes just before a PTI power show planned for next week.

Speaking to reporters alongside PTI Secretary-General Omar Ayub Khan outside Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail, Qaiser revealed that the PTI, in a meeting with Imran Khan, decided to expand the opposition coalition, aiming to unify all opposition parties for an anti-government movement. The power show in Swabi will serve as a platform to demand the release of former PM Imran Khan and other detained leaders, Qaiser added.

Qaiser also criticized the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government for the recent surge in electricity bills, labeling the increased costs as 'unacceptable' for the inflation-hit public. Meanwhile, Omar Ayub Khan called for public attendance at the Swabi gathering to show support for Imran Khan. He accused the PML-N and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) of attempting to divide the military and the nation. The PTI is engaged in legal battles for Imran Khan's release amid new charges and ongoing detentions, according to Geo News reports.
