Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has suggested potential foreign involvement in the ongoing student protests in the country. In an exclusive interview with ANI, Joy noted the West's longstanding support for Muhammad Yunus, now head of the interim government, as a possible sign of external influence.

Joy stated, "Was the US directly involved? I don't know. I have no evidence. But if you look at the situation and the protests, you see they were incited and inflamed every step of the way." He highlighted that the protests initially began peacefully over a court ruling on civil service quotas, which the government also opposed.

He further alleged that a foreign supplier provided firearms to the protesters, escalating tensions. "The protesters began attacking the police while bearing firearms. Where did they get these firearms? Only a foreign intelligence service can supply them. The west has been championing Yunus for decades," Joy claimed. He also noted that misinformation about his mother's statements on Razakars contributed to the unrest.
