In a significant political event, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman met with interim government chief Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna, accompanied by his family members.
Law adviser Asif Nazrul emphasized the meeting's non-political nature, framing it as a courteous gesture rather than a strategic political dialogue. This gathering followed Rahman's recent return from London, where he had spent 17 years in self-exile.
The meeting marked Rahman's first such engagement since formally becoming BNP's chairman, succeeding his late mother, Khaleda Zia. As the BNP repositions itself as a leading political force in Bangladesh, Rahman is poised to become its prime ministerial candidate.
