In a significant step towards raising global awareness, Namkyi, a former Tibetan political prisoner, arrived in Geneva on February 9, 2025, to participate in the Geneva Summit 2025. This initiative marks the start of a five-day advocacy campaign aimed at addressing human rights violations in Tibet, in anticipation of the 58th session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC).

During the event, officials from the Central Tibet Administration (CTA) organized meetings with representatives from the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) China desk, UN Permanent Missions, and UN Special Rapporteurs. The campaign aims to foster diplomatic support from a broad spectrum of UN members, from smaller nations unfamiliar with the Tibet issue to larger countries with established ties.

The CTA reports that the emotional impact of Namkyi's testimony and the strategic diplomatic engagements could influence future UN considerations of China. Participation included Swiss Representative Thinley Chukki, and UN Advocacy Officer Phuntsok Topgyal. Further meetings are planned to continue pressing for action and dialogue regarding human rights in Tibet.
