In a dramatic security revelation, three Israeli citizens have been arrested on suspicion of collaborating with Iranian intelligence to endanger Israeli civilians and compromise national security. This disclosure was made public on Monday following coordinated operations by the Israel Police and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet).
Among the arrested is Mark Morgaine, 33, who purportedly maintained communication with Iranian operatives and undertook direct missions assigned by them, including the retrieval of a grenade allegedly intended for use against civilians. Morgaine's arrest on June 15 followed accusations of providing Iranian handlers with video evidence of a missile interception.
Additionally, Yoni Segal, 18, and Nahorai Omri Mizrahi, 20, both from Tiberias, were apprehended under suspicion of conducting surveillance tasks at locations such as malls and hospitals, sending data to Iran. The duo reportedly considered expanding their operations into assassination missions for significant financial gain, a plot that authorities managed to thwart in its early stages.
