Shaukat Ali Kashmiri, the outspoken Chairman of the United Kashmir People's National Party, has criticized Pakistan's renewed propaganda efforts against his organization. Known for their advocacy of self-determination and democratic rights, the UKPNP has been a long-standing target of such campaigns, according to Kashmiri.
Reflecting on historical events, he cited the overlooked will of the people during the 1947 partition orchestrated by Maharaja Hari Singh. Kashmiri accused Pakistan of using the region for its strategic gains, while ignoring pressing local issues such as inadequate healthcare, infrastructure, and education in Pakistan-occupied Jammu Kashmir.
Kashmiri called for self-accountability and political awakening among PoJK's residents, asserting that lasting change must come from within. Emphasizing the importance of unity and awareness, he advocated for a future where the people of Kashmir live freely and peacefully.
