Raptors trade G Richardson to Sixers for cash
The Toronto Raptors traded guard Malachi Richardson, the draft rights to forward Emir Preldzic and a future second-round draft pick to the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday for cash considerations. Richardson, 23, was a first-round pick (22nd overall) by the Charlotte Hornets in 2016. He played in 22 games as a Raptors reserve this season, averaging 1.4 points and 4.7 minutes.
In 12 games with Raptors 905 in the G League, Richardson has averaged 20.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists. Preldzic, 31, plays professionally in Turkey. He was originally drafted in the second round by the Phoenix Suns in 2009 and his rights have been dealt multiple times, most recently from the Indiana Pacers to the Raptors in July 2017.
Philadelphia will also receive Toronto's second-round pick in 2022. --Field Level Media
