In a significant move to resolve the Gaza conflict, US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday the establishment of a 'Board of Peace.' The announcement marks the second stage of his comprehensive 20-Point Peace Plan targeting a shift from mere ceasefire to sustainable governance and infrastructure rebuilding.

Through a statement on Truth Social, Trump highlighted the unprecedented levels of humanitarian aid delivered to Gaza since the ceasefire, applauding the efforts that even the United Nations recognized as unparalleled. With Trump serving as Chairman, the new board aims to support a technocratic Palestinian government to oversee Gaza's transition.

In collaboration with Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar, Trump plans to pursue a full demilitarisation agreement with Hamas, urging for the return of all detained individuals and the dismantling of tunnels. US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff emphasized the pivotal role international mediators played in achieving substantial progress in the ongoing peace efforts.
