India has reinforced its commitment to supporting Nepal's electoral journey by contributing an essential batch of election-related assistance ahead of Nepal's national polls in March. The handover ceremony was held at Nepal's Ministry of Home Affairs, where the first tranche of aid was officially presented to Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal.
Rakesh Pandey, Charge d'Affaires at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, handed over the package that included more than 60 double-cab pickup vehicles and other necessary supplies, underlining India's continued support for Nepal's election preparations. These vehicles are part of a comprehensive package totaling 650 units to be delivered gradually in the weeks leading up to the elections.
Nepal's Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal expressed gratitude towards India, acknowledging the robust and multifaceted relationship between the nations. Since 2008, India has been a steadfast partner in Nepal's electoral processes, providing nearly 2,400 vehicles over the years. This ongoing cooperation signifies the deep trust and friendship between the countries.
