Blue Jackets place C Dubinsky on IR

The Columbus Blue Jackets placed center Brandon Dubinsky on injured reserve, retroactive to Feb. 2, the team announced Friday. Dubinsky has missed the last five games with a hip injury sustained in a Feb. 2 loss to the St. Louis Blues. He spent time on IR earlier this season with a strained hamstring, which kept him out for four games.

The 32-year-old has five goals and six assists in 37 games this season, after posting just 16 points (six goals, 10 assists) in 62 games last year. He had previously topped 36 points in four straight seasons with the Blue Jackets. Columbus also added right winger Kole Sherwood on emergency recall from its AHL affiliate, the Cleveland Monsters.

Sherwood, 22, has 11 goals and three assists in 34 games with the Monsters this season. --Field Level Media
