The Russian capital is set to host an influential conference, 'Russia and India: Towards a New Agenda for Bilateral Relations,' on March 23. Diplomats, policymakers, and experts from both nations will gather to bolster strategic cooperation, with the inauguration by Sergey Lavrov and Subrahmanyam Jaishankar highlighting the event's significance.

Convened by the Russian International Affairs Council and the Indian Embassy in Russia, the conference aims to navigate pivotal themes such as Russia and India's role in a multipolar world, third-country engagement, and expanding economic collaborations. As reported by TV BRICS, bilateral trade reached an impressive 68.7 billion USD in 2024-2025, with a target to hit 100 billion USD by 2030 as envisioned by Putin and Modi.

Emphasis will also be placed on connectivity projects, including the International North-South Transport Corridor and the Chennai-Vladivostok maritime route, aimed at optimizing logistics and trade. Discussions will extend to sectors like agriculture, culture, and education, underscored by a 35% rise in Indian students in Russia in 2024, signifying deepening bilateral ties.

The dialogue will tackle visa relaxation to enhance tourism and labor exchange, concluding with strategies to steer future Russia-India collaborations.
