Ryan Bodenheimer, a former US F-15E combat pilot, called a potential US ground invasion of Iran "not a good plan" amid the worsening regional conflict, now in its second month. He urged for alternative strategies to avoid prolonged conflict and significant troop commitments, based on lessons from previous large-scale invasions.

Speaking to ANI, Bodenheimer, who completed approximately 70 combat missions in Afghanistan, expressed hope that a ground invasion is not on the table. "That's an old playbook," he remarked, highlighting the ineffectiveness of past military occupations. Bodenheimer suggested supporting internal Iranian resistance, emphasizing the role of locals seeking freedom from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Though he lacked top-level insights, Bodenheimer pointed to increased US military activity in the region and advised empowering Iranian forces against the IRGC, potentially with advisory roles or limited military aid. He warned of the severe consequences of any conflict but dismissed a full-scale invasion as impractical given Iran's vast military capabilities and the required troop numbers.
