Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a high-stakes five-nation diplomatic tour beginning May 15, marking a strategic move to the Gulf amidst ongoing regional conflicts. His itinerary includes a crucial meeting in the UAE before proceeding to four European countries to strengthen India's global presence.

Speaking at a media briefing, MEA Secretary (West) Sibi George outlined Modi's agenda, emphasizing its design to enhance energy security and accelerate India's technological transition amid global supply disruptions. The tour starts with a significant meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, focusing on energy cooperation and regional stability.

Following the UAE, Modi's European engagements commence in the Netherlands, a country pivotal to bilateral relations. The visit coincides with the India-EU FTA milestone. Modi will then attend the India-Nordic Summit in Norway, a prelude to reinforcing trade, investment, and green technology collaborations.
