In an unprecedented diplomatic advancement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Monday that India and Norway are embarking on a 'golden age' of bilateral partnership. This ambitious collaboration is highlighted by an announcement of Norway's monumental commitment to invest USD 100 billion into India's commercial sectors, technology, and sustainable energy initiatives.

During his visit, Modi received Norway's highest civilian honor, the Grand Cross of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit, acknowledging his global diplomatic efforts. At a joint media event with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store, Modi underscored the need for peaceful negotiations in resolving global conflicts, citing current geopolitical tensions in Ukraine and West Asia.

In a move to strengthen economic ties, Norway also revealed a comprehensive plan to boost investments in India, promising unprecedented economic stimuli. Modi's visit to Oslo marks his first to the country and the first official visit by an Indian Prime Minister in over 40 years, aiming to rejuvenate the India-Norway relationship for the new era.
