India strongly rebuffed references to its Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in a joint statement made by China and Pakistan, asserting its position that Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh remain integral and inalienable parts of the nation. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal emphasized India's long-standing stance and rejected external commentary.

In response to the joint statement, Jaiswal criticized any attempts by foreign nations to endorse Pakistan’s unauthorized occupation of regions related to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He reaffirmed India’s opposition to CPEC projects in its sovereign areas, which they argue infringe on India's territorial integrity.

Jaiswal also dismissed earlier boundary agreements and referenced cooperation between Pakistan and China on trans-boundary water resources, which he deemed baseless since India does not recognize such agreements. The joint statement followed talks between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, where China reiterated a historical perspective on the Jammu and Kashmir issue.
