US-Iran Peace Deal Sparks Israeli-Pakistani Tensions

The recent US-brokered peace agreement with Iran is reshaping West Asian geopolitics, but Israel's firm rejection of Pakistan's role in regional peace efforts underscores ongoing tensions. Israel's Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, has criticized Pakistan's trustworthiness, amid inflammatory remarks from Pakistani officials that have intensified Israel's skepticism.

In the wake of a landmark US-Iran peace agreement, engineered by Washington, the geopolitical landscape of West Asia is experiencing significant shifts. However, Israel remains resolutely opposed to potential involvement from Pakistan in the region's peace processes. Israeli Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, has openly dismissed the prospect, citing a profound sense of distrust.

Azar's comments come in response to suggestions that Pakistan could assume a constructive role, a notion brought to light by former US President Donald Trump. Trump hinted Pakistan might contribute to regional stability, despite the absence of formal diplomatic relations between Israel and Pakistan. Azar, speaking to ANI, did not mince words on the state of Israel-Pakistan relations, which have traditionally been fraught with tension and diplomatically severed ties.

The peace pact with Iran also included significant strategic moves, such as reopening the Strait of Hormuz and lifting the US naval blockade. Trump's description of the agreement as a 'historic breakthrough' has not swayed Israeli sentiment. Israel's National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, has reinforced the country's independent stance, asserting that Israel is not obligated to adhere to externally driven diplomatic agreements, prioritizing national sovereignty and security instead.
